Hows your I-Bar??

How much would the non-dimmable I-Bars cost and do they come in just one color? I'd like to add 2 more bulbs to my current T5 fixture, but my fixture is black and the I-bar looks to be grey. I'd like to find a way to somehow connect this I-Bar to my current Fauna Marin fixture and make both match in color and length.

Non dimmable are special order, but why would you want them? You lose so much functionality. Just my personal thoughts.

Yes we can get them I will have to work out a price next week for you.

We can only supply in anodise aluminium (note the English spelling:D )

Regards
Michael

My Solaris is the 54w version. I figured that I should get the non-dimmable version because since my 6 bulbs are also not dimmable, if I got the dimmable I-bars it wouldn't look right to have only 2 bulbs dim.

So why not retrofit it with our 54 Watt dimmable ballasts?

simple affordable and gives you all you need in one hit.

I would do that, believe me, money is the only constraint. Would it even be possible to mount the I-bar to the FM fixture?

Well as the North American and Canadian distributors for fauna Marin, we should get access to the technical details, I will ask Claude.

The cost of a NON dimmable I bar is about the same cost as retrofitting.

You have 6 tubes? If so thats 3 ballasts.

1 ballast does two tubes.

If money is tight do one ballast at a time

Yes, 6 tubes is correct. Going one at a time with the ballasts is what I may do, but first I would be interested in adding 2 more tubes to my fixture. Michael, please do let me know a price once you get one.

What for? Non dimmable?

Seriously go for Dimmable, why spend the money on ballasts you will only end up changing. Just my oppinion.

Off for the evening now, wife dragging me out for an Italian, will check back in tomorrow morning

Cheers for now

Yes, for Non-Dimmable. I am still not positive as to whether I like having the bulbs dim or not. I haven't been able to find anything to read as to what the benefits are to corals by having the dimming capability.

The simple answer is that it eliminates light shock from your system.

Watch your inhabitants when the lights come on and watch them dart for cover or visa versa.

The idea (personal view) of reef Keeping is to mimic as closely as possible the natural enviroment of the inhabitants of your system, so having lights that suddenly come on goes against that concept in one hit.
