hundreds of tiny snails - is this trouble?

An hour or so after my lights go out I see hundreds, perhaps thousands of rice-sized snails spread out all over my substrate and rocks. Is this something I should be worried about. Will these snails outcompete the other mature snails or cause any damage ? I can't identify the species.

It appears that these are cerith snails.

More likely, they're harmless rissoids, which are scavengers. At that size they would probably be mature adults.

Indeed - I looked rissoids up and they were a match.

Now I just have to catch one and make sure it is not a pyramidale so I can stop worrying about my clam.
