I am working on my water today and I see one of my new coral sitting in the middle of my urchin. Has anyone ever seen this before and can you tell me whats going on? This looks kind of scary with a $75 coral urchin.jpg

Urchins are extreme hoarders. Anything lying around the tank (Shells, loose frags, coral polyps, etc.) they'll potentially lug around the tank with them.

that looks like a pincushion urchin and yes, they will pick up anything loose. if it's a prized coral, it'll get dropped where you won't be able to reach it. if it's an aiptasia, it'll get dropped front and center! LOL

It's his camouflage. All is good. My Royal urchin always has a patch of zoas on his back.
Wouldn't trade him for anything. They are this best thing u can do for a CUC.
