I am not putting much stock in this article. What they wrote:

This is just plain wrong. I think the other two names are old, no longer accepted names of P. biaculeatus. There are no such thing as two other species of Premnas clowns. IMO, this put the whole article unreliable at best.

Hopefully they are better at molecular science then they are with anemone fish identification.

lol
So, I snapped a cool pic of the two very close to each other in the nem. I was in a hurry this morning and forgot my digi.

I'm a little worried that the GSM may just be "waiting" to outgrow the B&W to take over (take out the occ)
so far, they're still not engaged in combat which is excellent. but the B&W still seems hesitant to fully let the GSM in.

Also, I've been slacking a little on my carbon maintenance (maybe 3-4 months), but I changed all three compartments out saturday. I made quite a discovery:

The contents were serioulsy 60% carbon, 40% small, orange, egg looking balls. I'm assuming they are clown eggs. I will post a pic of these tmro as well

well I talked to Elliot at Kalypso, he said chemi-pure uses an ingredient in their carbon that ends up looking like eggs, and he thought the same thing once before. So I don't think they are eggs, lol:

hungry anyone?

Here's the two (not the most flattering shot). You can see Willie's misbar in the reflection. I noticed my BTA doesn't appear as colorful as it used to. I think my 10k bulbs are getting worn out (5 months)

I stopped using tap this weekend, changed out all my carbon, and I just put in (2) brand new ATI 12k aqua blue specials in last night (stoked). should help out a lot

Even if these two don't work out, I may try again in the future with two babies. Actually, there is one of each at my LFS right now...lol

I've said this before and I'll say it again. What we generally recognize as the definitions of Species and Hybrids are based on mammals. They do NOT seem to apply to fish. At least not very well. Basicly because they can interbreed and the F1 can also breed.

I never took part in Clownfish Crossbreeding myself. But the company I worked for did crossbreed Gobies. And we did breed into the F2 & F3, with interesting results. We also looked into Black OCL x OCL, but they are not technically a crossbreed. As I have said before, fish seem to be more "Plastic" like dogs & cats, and able to interbreed with closely related species. A prime example of this is the Hybrid Stripe Bass, a commonly aquaculture food fish. http://aqua.ucdavis.edu/dbweb/outreach/aqua/300FS.PDF (see page 3)
