Hybrid Maroon and Ocellaris Clownfish

Since I have read the article from ORA blog

Mystery Clownfish

I am very interested to hybrid different clownfish...

I try to mate two couple female Maroon & male Ocellaris

female Maroon & male Ocellaris

and Two pair female Ocellaris & male Maroon.

female Ocellaris & male Maroon.

Unfortunately only one pair female Ocellaris & male Maroon survivor.
But they are mated and already spawn.

Stock fish spawn...

The eggs not very much , about 4~500/one batch
Spawn regularly about 15day.

The color between Maroon and Ocellaris clownfish ... but more dark read ...

Growth rate ... same Ocellaris fry .... more fast than Maroon fry...

SO sadly ~ the 1st and 2nd batch fry are dead by parasite and bacteria

There are only 3 juvenile survivor ... but different in color performance.
(same batch)

Same batch juvenile fish ~ They color near Ocellaris clownfish ...


I hope & I will try to hybrid more different clownfish ...

Nice looking fish.

I like them better then many of the other 'designer' (aka misbar) clowns out there.
