hybrid trigger

I guess. A female X-hatch runs about $300 on a good deal, and a Goldenback runs north of $800, so just on averages and not even counting it's a hybrid, yea.

I do have some big reservations that it's crossed with a Goldenback though. Either Xanthichthys mento x Xanthichthys auromarginatus (most likely) or Xanthichthys mento x Xanthichthys lineopunctatus.

Or $70 for this

Looks like it has more sargassum then anything else. Still a beautiful fish. Dan, where can you get that fish for $70?

At some of the local stores here I've seen them at that price up to $90.

The bottom one looks exactly like my Sargassum trigger. Doesn't look like a hybrid. Either way, $70 is a great price for a sargassum.

The one I posted is just a sargassum, it looks just as nice as the $400 one.......and they should be feeding it more. A skinny trigger for $400? Come on. I know they have to have it ready to ship, but I am sure they could fast it for a couple of days when it sells.

I agree.

really nice specimen but to me it resembles a sargassum trigger a lot more then a crosshatch hybrid, or even a crosshatch at all, still a great looking fish

If I remember correctly sargassums aren't found in the Pacific. So if that is the case and knowing they didn't get it from the Atlantic it can't have sargassum in it. It looks like it could be a crosshatch x goldenback, but I'm no trigger expert so I won't start guessing.

The vid. was taken 4 months ago when they first got it so I'm sure they have fed it generously since.

Their website is disturbing:
