Hydrox

I have a bunch of jellyfish-like hydroids in my aquarium. Are they harmful to anything other than seahorses? I don't want to use panacur, because then I can't have snails, hermits, or if I decide not to have seahorses or pipefish, then I can't have a mantis shrimp.

hydroids arent that dangerous when keeping bigger seahorse species (anything but zosterae) so... erectus, reidi, kellogii. unless they are colonial hydroids (which dont sound like urs). so unless u want to keep dwarf seahorses (zosterae), i wouldnt really worry about hydroids.

As mentioned, larger critters won't be affected by the occasional droid bloom. Fry and zots are at risk tho.

If your tank is going thru its pod blooms, the droids have likely shown up for dinner, and will wane once the pod population thins.
