the Erectus juvis that I have raised have started to breed . I just had to share with someone and figured the people here would understand my joy . I have paired up unrelated males and females while they are awaiting their new homes . there are 2 very pregnant males right now . they have such small pouches , I did not think they were ready yet . the juvi's were born in Oct. and Dec. I will try to get pics up later , they seem to be so proud to be carry around those big bellies . sooooo cute .

Wow, that's great! I have newborn reidi fry, they are on day 5 now. I didn't know that seahorses could breed that early. That's totally great for you. I love the fry, I'm thinking I need more already LOL This is my first brood.

How big are your juvies? I am trying to get a picture of how long it takes for them to get at least the size to tell their gender, do you know?

mine are Erectus so maybe it differs , but I could tell by 4 months for sure ( boys have pouches ) . I had a pretty good idea from a couple weeks old by body shape . I did not expect them to breed this young either . I had seperated related boys and girls early on just in case . these are actually picked out to go to a new home together in the hopes of breeding ( they are from unrelated parents ). they are all around 4" .mine have fry every 4 wks . I took a couple months off from fry raising , but I have 2 batches I am caring for now and another large batch born last night . I have to get these juvis to their new homes now that they have started as well. it is fun though , I do enjoy it.

wow congrats! I know my dwarves just had about 20 fry about 3 days ago and they are so awsome! I just love it.
