I know you guys have tons of expirience and hope you can help me. My 2nd or 3rd QuietOne 4000 makes unbereable noise that I just can't stand anymore. Its driving me crazy.

I am looking for a pump that would be quiet (very quiet, tank is in the bedroom) would pump somewhere between 800-1200 gph and would not spin my meter out of control. Pump is to be plumbed outside of sump but its important that its does not add temperature to my already hard do control tank.

BTW. I have a 135 reef tank with T5s and loaded with softies of all sorts. My temp currently jumps between 78-82 degrees.

Pls help. I need to get some sleep.

I used to have a QuietOne pump and mine was very quiet. I couldn't really even hear it once it was put inside my cabinet. I'll be surprised if you can find anything quieter. I put some type of rubber mat underneath mine to reduce the vibration.

I have three leyers of soft sponge under the pump and both intake and outlet are plumbed using vinyl hose. I read reviews here on RC and every other one is bad. So you got half the people who are very satisfied and half who say the pump is everything but quiet.

the sequence pumps are quiet
i had a baracuda and a dart running right next to eachother and the buzz they made wasnt what i expected at all

if your looking for a quieter pump i would try one of those.

let me know maybe i can help

I use a velocity t5 on my 125. I don't have any issues with it heating the water.

I hear that these are extremely quiet but they do raise the temperature even as much as 4 degrees :eek2: Even the store I have recently contacted has confirmed that some comlain about it and call back for different pumps.

I'm running a dart as well. Not exactly quiet but not noisey either.
I find the noise actually puts me to sleep.

the sequence pumps have a very pleasent effect they put me to sleep also

and its not unbearable

like i said let me know

I'm not sure if they can be used externally but eheim is quiet, dependable & low operating cost. Be careful of quiet one pumps, if you lose power or unplug them , they dont always restart on their own

Yeah, I had that problem with one and it burned out. Now I have my pump and all powerheads plugged into a UPS (battery backup)

I haven't seen any sequence pumps that are around 1000 GPH.

They are all big

Quiet, is a relative term. I have my system in my den so it's a little different than having it in a bedroom, etc. I have a piece of a rubber mat under the pump and it just gives off a low hum. I would say the durso pipe draining and the skimmer is louder than the return pump. If that helps. I think it's pretty quiet and it doesn't run hot. Again, that's just my opinion. If you were close by you could come over and judge for yourself.

I have an aquamedic turboflotor and a drain pipe in my overflow box. The skimmer I can't hear at all. The pipe makes a very delightfull very quiet slushing sound, something like living by a river. The pump makes a deep hum that penetrates my skull. The tank is in my room and I need to be able to sleep but this has been bothering me for months and now I just can't take it anymore. I am bidding on acoustic foam to line the stand with it to minimize any noises but the quiet one has to go like yesterday. I am torn between Blueline 30 HD-X and Blueline Velocity T4. The first is much more efficient in term of electricity but I haven't had any confirmation of how quiet it is. The lattery is cofirmed extremely quiet (you won't know its running) but some have said that it adds heat.
