ok i put SO much glue on it the entire mushroom was hard like a potato chip, thought I killed it for sure. I came home today and of COURSE it is floating around. omg im so done lol. no luck with netting or glueing, time for the rubble box. it sucks because I really want to buy a few loose ones from my lfs, but I dont want to attach them because it is rediculous. I love xenia. lol rubberband it down and in two days its attached. but no.... oh ya and my kenya tree is floppy... not a good day today for corals...

lol awesome man the hawkster has a pair of rd shrooms i need to get, but eveytime I am in st. pete he is busy. how long would it take for y ou to attach some? how many and what color btw just wondering. Thanks alot man. thanks alot for the awesome video plc. Im trying the rubblew box right now. gonna make a shallower one with smaller rock tommarrow.

whats funny is that i live right around the corner from hawkster.the shrooms are blue and some red ones from hawkster.it would probably take a few days to attach,i already started them.

hey playa heres what i do for my shrooms....put them in a plastic dixie cup or something similar with rubble in the bottom and leave it in a low flow area for a few days, come back dump the cup out and there attacked. give it a try i kno it will work. not the fastest but it will work.

i got a zoa frag from plc with a red shroom on it... it was already attached and he hasnt moved or came un attached at all.. the sucker has already grown alot in the few weeks i have had them... i didnt realize how quick this stuff grows(shrooms,zoas,xenia,ext...)....now if i can just get my algea problem under control.

Even easier than the rubber band method is to use a fabric common referred to as toole. you can pic toole up at walmart, or any wedding supply or fabric store. The fabric is like a fine net.

to secure the shroom, place the shroom on a rock and then loosly tie the fabric around the shroom and the rock. in a week take to toole off and you are good to go.

I find this so much easier than the rubber band. the rubber band can cut the shroom, shroom can still get out, all sorts of things.

Good luck!

I've only done it a couple times but my experience was this:
Shrooms want to attach by themselves, they don't react well to being squashed against a rock really hard. So, you need to find a way to keep them next to the rock you want them to attach to. You can let them just sit on a rock but you have to make sure there's no current (in a cup like h2joe said), or you can strap them very lightly with something, like a net that doesn't press into their flesh - just hold them around where you want them (the wedding veil). For me it took 2-3 days before it stuck with the cup method... I don't know if that's usual. I don't think glue works. Be gentle with them.

so just throwing them in a cup with veil over it only takes 2-3 days???? ALSO!!! I just got a ric, it is attached to like a peice of hard macro... do I glue that down or rubble box it?
