I assume this is a repost but just in case some haven't seen it

Angel*Fish

cats and large squashes
All the action takes place in the first few seconds, the rest is just the fish suffering.
I ran across it on this thread where it was posted by Blown76mav

That is pretty sad -- on numerous levels, the obvious, the bleached anemone, the wall o' air, the mixed species of clowns, and I am sure a bunch of other stuff too.

I was just amazed to get to see what the clown did. You're right though. And that video is certainly not for the squeamish. Wait that's me! I am the squeamish and wish I hadn't watched past the first four seconds. I was so sad about the poor suffering fish that I never even noticed the other problems until you mentioned them.

Edit: I've watched the beginning several times - was that fish already compromised? It looks like maybe he was already dying and just floated over there. I had thought the clown nabbed a healthy fish.

I've never seen that before...

Call me the odd man out but I found that very interesting. And honestly I am thinking the fish almost HAD to be compromised as I have one of those damsels and it's more likely to move/rearrange my anemones than get taken down by them - a sebae included.

I find it worth noting that the anemone didn't even seem interested in eating the fish. WTH?

Toss some feeder guppies in a tank with clowns and anemones and watch how fast they get pulled into the anemone. I stopped doing this when some people advised not to feed freshwater fish to anemones; however my anemones were none the worse for it.

:( Some of them are very well behaved. Either way I hate to see any fish die.

When I posted that I thought it was a video of a clown catching a healthy fish and tossing into the anemone which most would admit would be noteworthy.

Those Clarkii/Sebae clowns love to feed their anemone. I had a friend have all of his brand new Chromis (7) fed to his LTA by his Clarkii pair.

Yes - it is interesting that some people question whether or not clowns have ever shown true "feeding" instinct toward their host anemones. The argument is often that the clowns themselves are interested in food, and only pull the food back to the anemone because they are "storing it" or have some similar hording instinct. I find this argument hard to accept in cases where clowns are actually pulling live, healthy fish into the anemone.

yeah I agree something was wrong with that fish. and yeah I didn't notice the other stuff going on but typical newbie and yes that sebae had nothing left but to simply defend itself and not consume that fish. very sad, even if its a damsel

I'm with you Angel*Fish - I really hate to see a fish (or any animal) suffering. I won't watch these types of videos, and appreciate the warning.

I once had my little black ocellaris grab a much bigger (but compromised) fish by the tail and try to drag it into its BTA. Gruesome, but no opportunity gets missed on the reef I guess.
