I believe they are mounting an attack

I suspect there are enemy troops preparing an attack on my tank. seems like I'm ina trench with little issues - mysterious clear algae, and now this.

I did the weekly water change and noticed 100s of little white thing stuck to the glass of the sump, especially inside the baffles. there are two kinds - one is a little pod that is attached to the glass on one end, with the body floating in the water, the other is a little spiral and flat.

Looks like a sump/ fuge with life and no problems. U should be happy

Spiral creatures look like diatoms to me, (edit) but I'm new at this.

Pineapple sponges and mini dusters/fanworms. Perfectly natural development in a healthy tank. If you get too many, you're giving them too much to eat.

Edit: technical name of mini spiraly thingies is Spirorbid Worms

My bed room sump and fuge is full of them in the overflow collection chamber always heir.

I be weary of the spiral guys, when a mass number groups together they can form a vortex sucking ur tank into another dimension... other than that, sounds like ur tank is pretty healthy

Pineapple sponges!!! Those things are cool, they are great filter feeders and will come in waves. I bet in a few months they will be gone, then they will re-appear again.

Pascal...you can scrape...but i agree..that's a healthy sump.

I agree that your sump is healthy. Pineapple sponges are also called Scypha sponges.
