I can't afford this...

This hobby is kinda like Hogwarts. Dumbledore once said that something Harry Potter did was a complete secret....so naturally the whole school knows about it.

Bear with me there is a point to this. And yes I love HP!

I can't afford this.....so naturally here it sits waiting to be installed tomorrow evening. :)

Please excuse the lousy photos as it is 1:30 in the morning. Please excuse the slight mess as well.

Build quality is really good and this thing is solid. A little smaller than I thought it would be but as long as it works who cares? I could kill somebody with it if I threw it at them. It is stout. I am very pleased and if it works as good as they say they do I will be a happy man. I built my stand tonight so in the sump it goes tomorrow after I get home from helping Scott.

Without further ado I introduce the I-Tech 100 with Tunze pump! :)

Very cool! What's the height on it?

21 1/2" and you need another 1/2" to remove the cup. Footprint with the Tunze pump is 11"x 9".

Way to go Chris, I'm sure you'll be happy with the I-Tech. If I did not have the beast I have That would be my choice too.

Just for the record, I love my I-tech. I have the 200 and it skims like a madman. Anyone thinking of buying one should.

You don;t need a 200 Aneal. A 100 would do for your tank :-)

the 200 with the Sicce pump is around $550.00. If they have the Tunze's for the 200 it would be $600.00.

They are truly rated properly. A 200 handles my 180 no issue. A 100 will handle up to 100 gallons no isue.

I really can't believe how far the I Techs have come in the past year or so...

I initially saw them when I was down at FAOIS last year... They came with a EuroReef fitting for the collection cup (which I didn't like)... John was still testing different pump applications, which of course he still is... lol They look a lot cleaner now, and not as rough about the edges...

Very nice skimmer...

Especially now that they have Tunzes on them, Joy!

I didn't realize Tunze was making skimmer pumps now... I knew the I-Techs were getting them, but I thought they were a modified pump of some sort. Nice. :)

Just for the record, the Tunze's offer a slight amount of increased flow, but that is with the I-tech Volute. Other than that, the Sicce performs very well and is much less expensive. I will be trying a Tunze on it, but the Sicce with the PPW is very good and if it weren't for the fact that someone wants my Sicce (and he is on a budget), I would probably just pass on the Tunze.

Oh, one other caveat. The tunze I am told runs super quiet, and the Sicce can be noisy. I got a quiet Sicce though.

I love you, Andy. *sniffle*

PS. For everone else other than Andy, I'm the one who wants the Sicce. ;)

Yeah I got her going late Wednesday night. Not pulling much so far as I guess it needs to break in. The tunze pump is killer (as expected. I haven't used anything made by that company that doesn't rock) and near silent. The bubble production is incrdible and it only pulls 13w of power. The tank temp has dropped a whole degree by installing this skimmer.

I am really happy with it because once it breaks in I know it is going to meet expectations. I kinda wish I would have gone with the 200 for future proofing but there is always next time right?

I will get some pics tonight if I get a chance.
