Thanks guys :) I am really liking T5s for my shrooms. I also am thinking my yumas bleaching may have been due to flow so i shut one of my tunzes off and have shaded it a bit and giving it time to recover..

The hairy though? stays nice and happy like that all of th etime- I noticed a baby growing on the back of its rock too!!!!! It caught a pellet this morning and folded up looking like an anemone it was so big and fat. I think shrooms are my *favorite* of all corals :)

Yeah no kidding. theres one thats nearly a foot or so i think in the prop forums right now. if it wasn't so much i'd buy it but i just got this one! haha too cool

nice pic! i got 6 of those on 2 diff rocks(well now its on two rocks). they're about 8in to 10in. one of my favorite.

I love how big they get mine is expanding pretty big now too since its been in for a little while.. its gotta be more like 7 inches or so i should get a ruler to compare sometime

Huh?! I have 2"-sized in 6g, and thought it's a big one...
How risky is to frag it? Is high hair extension (twice bigger, than on picture) good sign or bad?

I think I have seen some that are more hairy than frilly? But what kind of lighting do you have on your nano and how long have you had them? I'd expect them to get larger given enough time :) they can get huge!

I have some more hairy than "noby". My sister has my camera for probly another 2-3 wks or Iwould post a pic:(

It was in 10g with 54W PC and sunlight, but something was wrong with water chemistry (tests were normal, AP kits), and all melted, except one. Moved to 6g Nano-Cube with 18W combo bulb and may be 1 hr of sunlight in winter - much better. Heavily fed tank, nitrates and phosphates sometimes (have non-photosynthetic gorgonian in tank).
Was in April - cute thing:

That is a nice looking shroom there. I haven't seen one of those!

I find that my nano grows the best corals and then I move them to the bigger tanks.

Probably, you had seen them many times - small, dime to 5 cents size, neon green with pink pimples, only pimples slightly more elongated, than round.
There are first hours of mine, before most of them ribboned off and desintegrated, despite proper acclimation:

Green star polyps are for size comparison - the tentacle was ~1/4" long.

Got to love those Hairy/frilly Shrooms. They get HUGE traded a few smaller ones today the biggest one on that rock got better than six inches across.

When I brought them in the owner of the LFS asked how big they got when I told him about the big one I didn't bring said he thought they were elephants ears ....Hes a great guy that traded me a sweet colony of Zoos with to many polyps to count so I wasn't gonna bicker about it .

Thats them is my avatar notice the full grown Ocellaris in the top corner swimming In the Giant shroom

You maybe right Dendro, now that I see them placed that way it does seem familiar. Thanks for putting it in that context.

You know I am seriously thinking about doing this. When I put my new shrooms (only shrooms mind you) in my 55g with T5s they don't seem to like it unless they tend to be one of the high light liking ones- like my hairy.

My yumas bleached so I put them in my nano- the new yuma I got went straight into the nano along with the green\orange shroom. I want to eventually move them into my 55g but only when they seem strong\willing\not bleached\going to freak on me.

Do you find that they do okay moving into your bigger tank after getting themselves established for a while in your nano? So frustrating to not have them instantly become stress free and perfect overnight but maybe this is the secret to touchy shroom success?
