I decided on an Angler!

For my 28g Nano Cube. Not sure which one yet, but either a Warty or a Red/Orange hopefully. I think I'd like one of those yellow wartys but we'll see what my lfs can get me and how much.

What I'm wondering is if there is anything different I should do set-up wise vs my regular reef tank. After setting up my big cube with The Package from TBS I've always said I'd never set up another tank any other way, but just want to make sure there's no reason not to with the Angler. I'm assuming their rock, sand and cuc will all be fine (maybe some of the cuc will get eaten?) along with the sponges and extra goodies TBS likes to include? I definitely want to have some colorful sponges to keep the Angler nice and colorful. Should I have anything else in this tank like macro algae? What about corals? Non stinging softies ok like Rics and Zoas? Anything I should avoid? I don't think I'll be doing any sps in this tank. An inch or two of sand is fine?

Any tips appreciated. I'd like to start getting things ordered this week.

Thanks!

This might get more views in the predator board. Why not move it there?

I say definitely go with TBS (wish I had that kind of cash!), and yes the little critters will most likely get sucked into that vacuum mouth they have. I really don't think you'd have to worry about any corals besides SPS because they perch and could irritate those polyps, but since you're not going there, nothin' to worry about. I say take it to the pros in the other board though, for sure. ;]

try to get a male. females are known to get egg bound and die, they release rather large gelatinous egg sacks every 11-15 days. i went through this a couple months ago with a female sargassum.

It's hard to go wrong with a warty (A. maculatus), and the cube will be more roomy for a warty as opposed to a A. pictus (painted angler).
