I didn't get a peacock I got a g.smithi

all I want is a peacock. this makes 5 mantis s hrimps and they are all not the ones I wanted. I have a bright green smasher, yellow spearer, A very Large g.smithi(new one) and two other smashers. the g.smithi is tuff as nails. I was holding the bag yesterday and I forgott that my hand was on the bottom of the bag. let just say I have a nice blood blister on my thumb.
 
see... I asked if you were sure you were getting a peacock! For that price, I was sure you weren't going to be getting one! Andrew may be expensive, but he gives you what you pay for!! If you want a peacock, he will get you a peacock! If I was there more often, I would help him ID them if he needed it!
Take care of that smithii! They are smart creatures, and will do a lot of roaming when they get used to their environment! Have fun with that guy, and keep him well fed!
 
he is huge!! I will say he is very pretty. dark green with darker green stripes. reds,blues and purple under his belly. he is about 4 -5 inches long ans about 1-2 inches wide. a beast. for the price andrew wants I can get in from my of my fish stores to order it. it just takes time. not alot of mantis lovers in upstate ny.VT
 
Sorry to hear that Cruella. I know a petstore in the city that has a peacock mantis for around $50. But Albany to Manhattan is a world away. I was going to get it but its just too big for my nano. A friend of mine on manhattanreefs.com may be able to get you a peacock (shipped to you) if you want I can ask him about it.
 
the yellow spearer is huge a good 6 inch fat guy. he is my husbands . he sleeps next to our bed on the night stand. (how nice now that on each side of my bed are two mantis). I wish I could get rid of him
 
Ya know, I've been looking for a smithii now for 3 years...boggles the mind that someone would APOLOGIZE for leading someone else to find one! *sigh*
 
Smithii's arent all that. After mine completed its burrow, it only comes out at feeding time. My Ciliata on the other hand, is always wondering the tank.
 
i found out you have to move the rocks for the smithii's liking, i put random rocks around the tank, plenty of cover, now mine is out 3/4's of the time
 
are any of your mantis smaller than 2"?

If you want to sell one of your unwanted mantis and it's less than 2" I would be happy to take it. I have a 5/5g pico reef.
