I finally got one!!

Hi i went to aqua dreams in mass. today and noticed that they had a mantis shrimp in one of the tanks. I asked them about it and they told me it was only $15. so i had to buy it. They were not sure what species it is, but i looked at Dr. roys excellent id page and i think it looks like a Gonodactylus smithii or a Neogonodactylus wennerae. Here is a pic. but it is not very clear. At the pet store they said it was from mexico. Its dark green with black spots. I will try to get a better picture. If anyone can tell what kind it is from the picture it would be a big help. Thanks.

Im kinda worries about the shrimp bleaking the glass. I read somewhere that acrylic tanks are much stronger, so im thinking maybe i should go get a 6 gallon acrylic tank?

a n wennerae can not creak glass. you can keep them in 5 gallon tanks(glass ones) with no problems

thanks. today i got some very small nassarius snails and a few tiny blue leg hermits, but hes too small to eat them. he only smacks them around. he did eat mysis though so should i just feed him frozen until hes large enough to eat live foods?
