def noise/ any other reason why not?
They were in my previous sump and tranferred them for some bacteria and wat not.
THE maine reason was noise. Plus to try to eliminate some microbubble that where driving me insane

If you do a search on bio balls you will find a lot of info. It was a hot topic a year or two back. Many people feel that bio balls increase nitrates in a tank. This is mainly because they catch debris that would otherwise by filtered or skimmed out and then this material breaks down into nitrates, phosphates, etc.

thanks man i'm hooking up my reactor this week and probably getting some frags from coralnursery- he certainly has some nice frag and good pricing. Perhaps I get my hands on a few colonies LOL
I've really had no problems with nitrtaes on this setup. So hopefully the amount of bioballs that i placed is minimal and should not affect this.

if you do wish to get rid of them you can have the water cycle through them to add that bacteria to your water column and slowly remove them every few days. thwater drain can be delivered under water level and simply add a 90 elbow so you have no back pressue ......whisper quiet and is what i did on the nano......same concept for any size tank...your choice of course....and if you choose, you can add a ball valve to reduce flow so your fuge is 100% effective (3-5X turnover).

good job so far man!!

Nick

The flow thru my fuge is minimal maybe 3x6 and seems to be workin great. Thnaks for the input will b eliminatin them in the future if there's some issues.
