flush it :eek1:
if you do anything with it, Put it back were you got it from DONT flush it ... reef on

Guam is in the Pacific next to the Marrianas Trench
inbetween Japan and Australia 84 degree water year round
85% of the fish Dr F&S sells are here in the reefs

Im not going to flush it theres only 1LFS that sells SW fish and the guy would probably cook the thing up for lunch than sell it

Theres tons of Octos here

I've heard of blue ringed octopuses coming in on live rock. They only get a few inches in size.

he has the same species as the one I have..the small eyes, LONG tentacles.
Its a Bipedal Octopus(Abdopus aculeatus)

no there is not much info on it as of yet..not many have had them..I have never had one before. I always had Bimacs..but this is what the store got in when i ordered it.

Im 24 hours away by Airplane to the east Coast
Fed EX shipping next day would be in the multi Hundreds
If I could even ship it out.

This morning he was near my overflow chilling
I have crabs that I threw in a they got big 2 got in a fight the other day and 1 lost both pinchers
He ate the claw out of 1 this morning and I found the clawless one on top of the tank on my magnet scrubber. I shook him off came back 1 min later and found this

Well he got teh other big crab today WITH claws .
He goes over rocks sticks his tentacles under feeling around
When he see his prey he moves in slowly and uses his tentacles to sneak up on it.
He almost had the one the first time but scard him to the top I knocked the crab down and he pounced on it I couldnt see the struggle due to him being behind rock. But teh crabs carcass is all over the place
He was messing with some hermits but left them alone afte rflipping them over

I went to 2 LFS 1 a "LFS"
1 a wholesaler that catches fish locally and sells by the 1000s to local aquariums and resorts that have saltwater ponds for people to snorkel in
Both said the octo that size is worth nothing but if he had a 6inch-1 foot head maybe $40

He got a red foot hermit today I have one with a 5 inch shell Im thinking is gonna be next

Everything is worth something. It just depends on who is willing to buy it. To the wholesale guy it may not be worth much of anything but that is because he doesn't have a forum of guys breathing down his back asking for a small octopus, he has 20LFS's or so that want what is popular. IE Nemo's Dorie's and the pretty stuff. If your in the market for an octopus they are usually cheap because it will be just as this guy has above a hitchhiker that they have to get rid of. I Ordered a Blue ringed a few months ago and the guy at my LFS wants me to wait so that I get a fresh born one. The life spans on these things suck.

That is a really great surprise you have there. Don't be so quick to boot him out. Snails and crabs aren't that exspensive. Some of us would love to have such a facinating stowe away!!!

The LFS doesnt sell crabs or snails so I have to catch my own.
He got a Blue Chromis today just left the head and skeleton sorta like a cartoon
He is cool to watch my fish were free so If he eats them all then I guess I have an Octo tank

I think I could go for that if I could catch me own fish. No luck finding any crabs or snails while fishing?

I would personally let it hang out for as long as you could. Not alot a reefers get the opportunity to have an octo in their possesion. I'd like to have one but I hear they are cunning and easily escape. Someone told me here they don't live very long in captivity so enjoy it while it lasts!!

P.S. I like looking at the pics of it so if you get a chance at any new shots I'd like to see them.

Well he has pretty much wiped out my crab population
I went to the beach and looked for more and now I cant remember where I got the crabs from. So I got some hermits
He wont eat cut shrimp.
New color pattern today
