i got my hood doors put on today

i have been waiting a while to install these doors and show you guys what they look like for a little bit.i want to thank reefartist for making the glass inserts for my doors,without these they are just plain old doors.so thank you,thank you,thank you.i really think they came out very nice and really add to the overall look of the tank.so here they are

there is still alot to do to finish off the hood.i need to add corner trim and side boards to cover the extra 6"from tank to wall,then match the stain up to the stand.and once again ty.

i have the glass held in place with a 1/8"frosted acrylic.it seems to help soften the intense light from the halides.also i think it will cut down on any salt creep from the edges of the glass.

Wow man, looks awsome dood!!!! KUDOS to you. Where did you get the glass from if you dont mind me asking? Really looks great. If the light ever bothers you coming from the edges of the doors, just put some foam weatherstriping on them and itll block all that light out.

ty pmike,reefartist made them for me.she had to fire the glass in a kiln to melt them together.i might do the weatherstriping havent decided yet.we talked about doing these for a while now and thought they would be really original looking.

I tell you what, you guys here in Tampa can build some stands and hoods. It will be quite a while before I start the woodwork on mine, and the good ideas keep coming.

Hahha yeah that is a sweet idea. I def like that alot. You know when I 1st saw this thread , I saw the pics and was amazed by them that I didnt even read what ya wrote!!! Just a few mins ago I noticed reefartist did them....oops!!

really close to true color.it was taken with flash but the tank itsnt yellow with the ushio 10k's
