finally got a decent pic of the kole tang. since i put him in my dt, he never stops moving! every single speck of lympho is now gone. squeeee!!!

Dang those guys need their cholesterol checked! Great pictures. One of the prettiest Koles I've seen.

It is a nice folklore but it does suggest a truth....lots of newbies way over feed.

thanks! the kole is my centerpiece fish, biggest fish in the tank and is always front and center.

that hawkfish is a pig. my other one is more selective but this guy...i have yet to find anything he won't eat, even picks at nori.

I suppose feeding an eye-sized portion of food is probably best... Unless a fish has really tiny eyeballs. And he does have fairly small eyeballs, that hawk...
Carnivorous fish can eat a LOT, usually. They gotta fit a lot in their stomach in case they can't catch anything smaller.
I have a 1.5" oil catfish who can swallow so much food that his stomach looks like he ate an entire pea, if I give him whatever he wants. He once ate almost three dozen mosquito larvae in about five seconds flat. Slurped 'em up like spaghetti. Man was he happy.
