I have had it

I am sick and tired of people making a deal through pm and at the last min they either sell the product or are unwilling to make the deal due to them not getting enough $ for the transaction. If people are going to commit to something through posts/pm they should by god stick to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not going to name names cause im not that kind of person but there is only one thing in life that is honerable abd that is a persons WORD. it dont matter if it in person, on the phone, over the internet. Iam a strong believer in carma, you should treat people the way you want to be treated.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will third that! I also am tired of sending PM's to people about items and they never get back with you. If they sold it fine, just post it or return a PM.

I could'nt agree more. I think the vast majority of the people that I talk to about buying corals / trading corals etc and it seems like the vast majority of the deals end up going nowhere. Very aggrivating.

I've tried to sell some used equipment on here a time or two and all I get are pm's trying to get me to accept far less than the VERY reasonable price I've already asked for or a trade for some even more useless equipment plus a prized xenia frag. So... I have 2 skimmers, a nice set of pc lighting, mh lighting, ca reactor, and return pump sitting in my closet collecting dust. I know eventually most of that equipment will be running on another tank so why the heck should I sell the stuff for pennies on the dollar? no I don't think so..

Your word is part of your HONOR, without it...you are nothing!

Very well said! I try not to sell things on here any more due to the very same thing!!! You will at least get what you are asking for by putting it on e-bay!

Not to mention how many times I have been BURNED by people that have no HONOR! At least when I have sold something that was bad or went bad I made it right. BUT IF YOU DO NOT BRING UP THAT THEIR IS A PROBLEM THEN I CANT FIX IT! NOT GOING TO MENTION ANY NAMES! YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!

I left this forum 4 or 5 years ago do to the flames and slander but recently reregistered cause I thought things have changed! Instead it just shifted! JMO!

I will thank people like Charlie A. and others on here for KEEPING thier word!!!!!(showing up when they said, honoring the price agreed and so on!)

I hope this gets the attention of the few that ruin it for the rest of us!

Sorry JMHO!

I agree that we ought to commit and keep our word when we've committed. I only disagree with the insinuation that making an offer lower than the asking price is somehow dishonorable. If I make an offer, it's just that: an offer. No one has to take it and there's no dishonor in just refusing the offer with a kind "no thanks, I'll let you know if anything changes"! I've dealt with or am dealing with some folks on this thread and all I can say is I hope I've dealt fairly and honestly. So far I have no complaints about anyone else!

Thanks,

Brad

Brad you are correct! There is no DISHONOR in ask if one will take a few dollars less than one was asking. But I think what Charlie is saying is if you have agreed on a price and then the seller backs out due to the fact that someone has offered more is WRONG!(what ever happen to first come first served?) It has happen to me more than once here.

Oh by the way we need to hook up I still have your red vest!?

Thank wantsalotta. I hope they are doing great for you.

I agree with brad and the rest, but mostly w/ brad. I am from Boulder so I am used to dealing with Flakes.

Watching some of the FS threads for a while now and I think I have come up with an observation or two:
It seems as though people get in such a rush to purchase things because they know if they wait even a few minutes that the deal may pass. So the seller thinks the item is sold. Meanwhile for whatever reason, money, change of heart, distance, etc... the potential buyer backs out leaving the seller to dry.

As far as sellers not following through I have only had a few things happen with me here on the boards and I attribute them to miscommunication. I guess I am lucky... Mainly I have only bought from people I have known for a while or met at past meetings.

This could be something we could later include in the website. A place to post positive or negative feedback for individuals as sellers and buyers. Something to thing about at least.

It would be nice to have some sort of rating system. like ebay. then people can know who is worth dealing with....

i for one think that we should sell/trade in the Sell/Trade forum. It saddens me that there are so few stimulating threads on this MB anymore, all i ever see is people wanting to sell and buy stuff. it is probably one of the reasons im not on here as much as i used to be!
good luck

Jon,
It is sad to see that you are not on here as much anymore. You ranked up there with the experts. Always looked at any thread where you posted to see what you had to add to it. I hope that the others (Kip, Del, etc...) will stick around and we can hear more from you.

Hey Brandon, were ya able to do anything with that Green Finger Tree Coral frag? And I agree with the honour thing, in the end....the reputation of a person is what gets weighed, and measured...more and more people these days have been weighed, measured...and been found wanting! (Generally speakin')

Charlie, you must have missed my point. my point is that with all of the selling/buying threads on here it is making our club forum on RC seem like a flea market!
good luck
