I have some wavebox questions?

I have an acrylic tank that is 48" long, 24" high and 18" deep with a lefthand corner overflow. I just measured from the bottom of the overflow slats to the top of the tank, and I have about
1 1/4". There is about a 6 inch lip all the way around the edge (not quit eurobracing as there is no strip in the center). Anyways will the wavebox work with my setup?? Since I will have a canopy and it won't be noticeable, I could cut out some acrylic to accomodate the box (if needed) What other flow supplements should I add or would the box be enough with my overflow return? (I have an Iwaki 40 something) :) I will have a lot of SPS in there....

What are the general opinions/thoughts on the wavebox itself??
I need some convincing that it won't be a waste :) Is it worth the money and would it make a difference in my tank??

TIA for any comments!

It should work but you have to have the magnet holders- 2 of them. The wave will likely be about 3/4-1" high. I would add a 6000 Stream on the same side of the wavebox which I would place opposite the side of your return. The wavebox gives a unique flow which eliminates all dead spots. I think they are worth having if your tank can accomodate one.
