I joined the 40 Breeder club

Well my latest adventure in this hobby. I have decided to build a 40 breeder reef, and on a tight budget lol, those two don't seem to go together. A couple months ago the purchase was made when petco had their $1 a gallon sale, purchased the Breeder and a 20 long for the sump. Since I have been off work for the last two weeks due to bad weather and going stir crazy I finally got around to building a stand, drilling the tank with the glass holes 700gph overflow and 2 returns with a mag 7, installed all the plumbing, and installed the glass baffles in the 20 long for a sump. Also my air water ice RODI system came in, totally happy that I can make my own water from now on! So now I am running regular tap water through the system to make sure any debris is out of the system. Now I'm up against the wall for the expense of live rock and live sand to start the cycle.

Thanks again Chris. Got the sand and rock all in, waited a few weeks to make sure everything was good. Got the water tested and decided to move everything from the 46 over... I thought it would be a great idea to dip everything in coral rx to not bring over any unwanted pests. Well I kinda over did it... lost all my birdsnest, acan, Duncan, frogspawn, candycanes.... lesson learned to be more careful with measurements.... basically the only survivors are 4 frags of zoas.

That's horrible...

I have a Duncan colony I'd be willing to cut some heads for you when you catch your breath.....

That sucks about the loss. If you'd like to replace with corals from the same family I have four different birdsnests (one big colony up for grabs) and a blue candycane I could chop up for you. :)

Keep us posted on your new aquarium!

Very nice guys, thanks! Added my maroon clown and mandarin goby last night and they are doing great this morning. Will try and post pics tonight.

It was nice to meat you. Excited and glad you could get some of your corals replaced. I see that Bryce is a handy little dude!

I get to talk to people from other areas that make contact because they read about the frag program.

In conversations with them I begin to realize how fortunate we are to have our club that is so willing to help.

Look at the threads over the last 60 days and the information and goods that has exchanged hands. I have REALLY taken it for granted.

OOOOOps, I soapboxed and hijacked all in one post

I feel very fortunate to be a member of this club, I defiantly would have been frustrated and possibly not into my reef without the help and support I have received here. Thanks to everyone.

Awesome tank shawne! I am glad to have been able to help with the setup. And nobody drills holes like Bryce!
