I like CHALICES, BIG and ROUND

Thought it might be interesting to share some growth pictures. October, 2012 is when I got my big boy camera so that is really when I started taking lots of pictures.

The change in coloring has to do with a new lighting fixture with different bulbs that I am not quite used to correcting yet. But hopefully you can spot the growth over time.

Found another one

July 2013 (It was doing battle with the pink boobie chalice, so I have moved it and positioned in this spot. It is a little weird on its side, but I am running out of real estate. Hopefully, you can notice that it has overgrown the pink epoxy base that it is still glued on)

U have an amazing collection of chalices And then I looked down further down n saw your sps collection then i put it together that you just have an amazing tank lol. Great stuff.

I broke the Miami hurricane above when I tried to remove it from the rock. It was originally glued to an epoxy base that was on top of the rock. I got lazy and the chalice overgrew the epoxy base and onto the rock. So when I tried to move it because it and the mummy eye above it were wrestling over real estate, it broke. Well it obviously did not go as planned and my perfect circular chalice is a little goofy shaped now

It looks like there has been a growth spurt of about a 1/4 inch around most of these chalices in the last two weeks, you can kind of tell by looking at the top picture in the previous post to compare. Look at how close the pink boobies is to everything today. Almost does not make sense, perhaps it is just the angle of the picture.

What kind of wrasse is that

It's a chaoti wrasse, relatively recent addition. Came from a fellow reefers tank who had it for two years or so. Eats pellets and flakes and seems to get along with everyone else. I think it has extraordinary color and markings

I just got a new magnet and it really helped clean the side glass so these are some pretty side shots, something that I have not tried in a long time.

Giving my chalice a hand.

Actually,I lifted it up so it would not adhere to the underlying reef scape but alas I waited too long from the last time and lost a little edge of it. It is still pretty darn large and my favorite, it is not a rainbow but it is still pretty exciting. After the picture, put it right back on the reef scape where it lives.

Kind of challenging to hold one arm in the tank and use the other arm to take a picture, good thing I wasn't chewing gum and walking at the same time.

Couple of interesting frags I have brewing in my experimental frag tank (it is experimental because I am doing some weird and wacky things with it)

original mummy eye frag

Look at the way I got this pink boobie to morph:
