I just took this tonight and instantly loved the light effect on the duncans. What do you guys think? please critique.

I like your Duncan picture too. What type of camera and lens did you use?

The only suggestion I would make is to get a bit more depth of field so that all portions of the Duncan are perfectly clear.

Thank you, I have a Canon rebel XSI with the kit lens.
I've had it for a few months now but this picture just jumped out at me because of the contrasting light on the coral. How would I go about getting better depth of field?

Nice shot with the kit lens. I picked up an Xsi and passed on the 18-55 and got the nifty fifty and 55-250. I just picked the Macro up yesterday, I love the Xsi. If you want more in focus raise your aperture.

+1

Beaaautiful lighting and composition on this one Brad. Nicely done. Yeah looks like you are shooting w/ a pretty narrow dof- like 2.8 or 5.6... To get the mouths of the duncan's in focus would be my goal- im guessing like f 11- 22 to achieve that.

It looks like a great picture. It would be better to my eyes if the face of the duncan was in focus, but oh well ;)

Like the others said, a higher f-stop would help with that.

 Thereeee we go! Im liking your adjustments on the duncans.

Do you use any supplements Brad - in your foods or directly into the tank? I ask because all of your colonies have very bold colors and look as happy as can be- that frogspawn is massive.

I like the first duncan shot the best. Made me stop and stare. Awesome.

That is a crazy hammer you got there. Looks gigantic. I've always been a fan of your fairies. You have a beautiful tank.

Thank you. The hammer is huge. I bought it with 7 heads on it and now its almost the size of a basketball. I hate to frag it but its getting to the point that its starting to kill other coral around it.
