i need ac3 email help

I am trying to get my ac3 to email me when its in alarm mode i have it set up as fallows
smtp= smtp.gmail.com
smtp port=25
from email address=my gmail address
to email address=my gmail address
alt to email address=blank
re email delay=60
time zone offset=-5 (whats the correct one for Iowa?)
email enable=enabled
email authentication=enabled
email auth login=my email id
email auth password= my email password

so what am i doing wrong I have it set up so I can control it from my droid and access it from any computer through the internet but i can't get it to send an email to my phone when it is in alarm mode
please help i'm realy frustrated

Gmail does not work; that is maybe your main issue.

For testing' if you telnet into the controller and do the following 3 commands you will get a verbose trace of an email send which will point out problems:

At the AquaController prompt type:
cons
1 maild
mail
