I need help...having diffeculties with my zoa's!

Well, that's a good thing.
It is still possible that it's causing the problem.
Now, did you find the snail directly in the spot where the zoas were closing?

well all of the polyps are closed and this seemed to be in the center of everything...but i guess well see!?! i guess the iodine dip cant hurt...

i only did the dip and i did it outside of my tank in a seperate container...i just got in from work (5 hrs later) and the tank looks fine and the zoa's although not open are showing good signs...a few more are peeking out...

That's excellent. Something is irritating them. What?
I have a corner bowfront tank. It is tough to get pictures, but not impossible. You have to get in real close and be perpendicular with the specimen. Then zoom in a close as you can without losing focus, then snap away. Always take 2-5 pictures of each specimen, then only keep the good pics. Blurry pics are good for abstract art and the recycle bin.

Be sure to set the camera to macro mode when snapping your pics. Take some with and without flash.

OK well i've never quiet figured out how to post pics in an actual thread but i did take two shots and there in my photo gallery...

...i took them without a flash and my tank has had the actinics on for 2 hrs now and the 10k bulb has been on for about an hr now...

this is about the best that they have looked in the longest time but still nothing opening up fully!

and i still have no idea is something is or was irritating them? i have no idea?

Well, it's tough to tell, but there is a mushroom coral right at the bottom of the colony. They will cause your zoas to close. They have nematocysts that they can basically regurgitate from their mouth to sting the poop out of another coral.

well that doesn't really sound that great...i didn't know that mushrooms could do that...so what should i do? cut it off?

even though the zoa's are closed...do they look healthy?

They look healthy, they really do. That mushroom can be the culprit, but usually it's just the zoas closest to the mushroom.
Try cutting the mushroom off and see what happens.
If nothing changes in a day or two, then we'll move onto the next idea.

should i or can i ever transfer/frag the mushroom or would that be really difficult?

also should i take a few pics of them while there out of my tank with the flash maybe something will show up that you'll be able to see?

how long can the zoa's stay out of the tank for?

Wire cutters will easily remove that mushroom.

zoas can stay out of the water for hours.;)
It wouldn't hurt to get a closer shot, but then that's it. Unless you frag the colony, you're gonna want to stop handling it.
Handling colony's can cause them to stress and die. That goes for almost any coral. Except Xenia, I think it like abuse...

ok well i'll take them out of my tank, i'll cut the mushroom off...snap a shot if i think it will be any better then the ones already take...

can i use a razor blade to cut the mushroom and will it grow back in the same spot if the base isn't completly taken out? and what would have yo be done to frag it or again is it to hard when there is only one?

It's only one, just cut it with a wire cutter or just break the rock between the colony and the shroom.
Don't razor it off, a small itsy bitsy piece can grow back into a full polyp in no time.
