Ok so i have a swc BMk 150 in a 20 gallon sump. The skimmer section is very tight. Just enough room for the drain and the skimmer. When i put it in the level in that section rose up and over the divider as if it is not even there. The water is a half inch over that baffel at all times. Still i am just at the high end for the recomended level for the skimmer not over it. Thats the history here is the problem. I have to nearly close the water valve to get the bubble levle up to the neck and even then the head very very rarly spills over into the cup. It mostly just colects nasty stuff in the neck. Ive never gotten a nasty cup of skimate like i think i should. Please help me with some ideas. Do you think im too deap?

also keep the air wide open and bring the skimmer bubble level up to the neck...you can set the level as high as 2-3" below the spill over point, just watch it for a day or 2 and make small adjustment then mark where u like it

Thanks guys i just raised it up to just about the sweet spot. Didnt have to close it as tight to get the bubles up there. My bioload is not too bad 4 small fish and some coral in a 90 with some inverts. Just at 3 months old. I will tweek it a little more from this highth
