I need some "frag" mounting ideas...

Well not so much a frag as a 12" diameter toadstool. It's the big boy i got from Ed, and it had detatched from the rock it was on due to me being stupid and putting it too high in the tank when it first arrived. I tried super glue and thread, but it has managed to come loose. Now it's hanging from the thread and i need to get it back upright. Any ideas?

Try putting a toothpick through the bottom near the base and use a dab of glue or thread to attach the toothpick to the rock. Over time it will attach. That is how I did it in the past. I am sure others will chime in.

I was thinking about that, but was worried that it might irritate the base a little bit. Where the base detatched there was some rot that i treated with iodine, and wanted to let it heal up a little bit. However a 12" toadstool floating around in the tank is a bad idea too.

I used a needle and some 8-10lb fishing line and stiched it to the rock, in about a week, cut the thread and pulled it back out.

Sandwich the base between 2 smaller rocks and use rubberbands around the rocks. Not super tight, but a moderately firm hold. You can always do this a little bit above the rot as well.

I ended up sewing the toadie on to a piece of rock with several loops and then used super glue at the very bottom for extra insurance. It was reinflated within an hour of going back in, so we'll see how it does.

Consider running some extra/new carbon for a week or so. Upset softies can be pretty toxic.
