I need some help with Water clarity and Tunze placement

I have a standard 180 tank with corner overflows. It is a sps dominated tank with live rock about 3/4 of the height of the tank.

I have 1 Tunze Wavebox in the back left corner aiming towards the right overflow. With the returns off I can get around a 1 inch+ wave so I know the wavebox is doing its job.

I have 2 Tunze 6101s driven by a 7095 controller set on interval 2 with 6 hour direction change. I am running the high chip and the pumps are at 50% power and on the controller they are set to 100%

I have each pump about half way up the rock on each side of the tank aimed towards the center glass and tilted slightly up. With the returns off, I can see a fair amount of water agitation on the surface.

I do have a deep sand bed.

My problem is this, at the start of the day when the pumps are in night mode and the wavebox is off, my water is crystal, by the end of the day, there is so much stuff floating in my water that my water looks very dirty.

Is the problem in the way I have these pumps placed, the power, the setting on the controller or something else or is the actually normal for the wavebox and pumps to do this? Is there anything I can do to help keep the water cleaner?

I can provide a diagram and or picture if it helps at all.

Thanks for any advice you can give me on this topic.

If it is detritus than the wavebox is doing its job. I would just add some particulate filtration to remove it.

I have the blue filter media in my sump, is that what you mean? So I guess having that stuff in the water is normal? Will it ever reduce or go away?

The wave action lifts and suspends detritus, this is beneficial because it can then be removed by the filter. An intank filter would more efficiently remove the detritus. It will eventually go away but you could probably clear it in short order with a diatom or micron filter or a 1600/2 turbelle running a 820 Pot Filter.
