I need some wave.. will this work?

Hi,

I went snorkeling many times now and I know what has been missing in my tank. I need some wave. My tank is 150g 48 X 24W X 30H. I have 1 corner overflow. I would like to buy a wavebox 6212 to use in this tank. I want to go with the big one just in case for future upgrade. I have 1 ½ “ - 2 “ clearance of water level. Will it work in a 4’ tank and the 1 corner overflow? Please help.

Yes, it will work.

That depends on what you do to solve it, you will need to raise the water level and add a Durso and possible reduce the the flow rate through the overflow, but any noise problem could be solved with some tinkering.

When u said to raise the water level.. do u mean the tank level or overflow? sorry.. i'm not sure what u mean.

Noise will usually be the result of splash surging into the overflow, if you raise the durso so the water doesn't fall as far into the overflow you will reduce the noise.

Hello again. My tank has a black trim. If I don't buy the magnet. Is it possible to mount the wavebox to the tank with the attachment that it come with?

Yes, but if the trim is curved like on older Oceanic tanks it doesn't work as well as with the square trim.
