I think I want a controller...can you help me?

I have a ReefAngel and it works great for me. I like to tinker and modify and personalize my controller, and the ReefAngel is great at that. If you don't want to code, there is a wizard that sets it up easy-peasy. If you want something special, you post your idea on the forums and lots of people will help you code with it. In fact, the forum community is a great part of the experience for me. Different modules are constantly coming out so you can pick and choose what you want. If you want the controller to be out-of-the-box ready to make decisions for you, then the ReefAngel will be annoying. If you like to customize and problem solve, then the ReefAngel could be for you! No programming expertise necessary, not even if you want to customize...

I have the Vertex Cerebra. It's great, and a lot of fun to play with. It's still a beta and has some catching up to do, but it promises to do so much more which is very exciting and worth the wait in my opinion. I really enjoy being a tester, and Gen 2 is supposed to be released in May!

Can't go wrong with Apex or GHL Profilux. I had an Apex classic for something like 6 or 7 years and Neptune just keeps getting better and better. I just didn't like the plastic look of Neptune's latest Apex and Cerebra is promising so much more. After a bunch of years with Cerebra, I may jump to a Profilux - all things being equal in another 6 - 8 years.

I like the controller competition. After the Vertex came about, Neptune felt some heat.
Profilux seems like a great controller, but just like many european equipment, seems like they can care less about the US?I wish it was more present, advertising aggressively like Vertex had done with the cerebra. That shakes things a bit.

If we watch the gadget pattern lately with the KH monitors, companies jump over it to be the cutting edge innovating, but at this point we dont know who will have a better product. What once was a big machine can now become a probe it seems?

I just can't stand Apexes new look. The old stuff felt solid and being rectangular, it was easy to mount in ways that looked good. The new stuff just looks plasticy and gaudy and its in funky shapes so it makes mounting it odd. I like the new features, but I think they missed the aesthetic mark. And the fact that I'm griping about looks shows I can't really find anything else to fault them about :)

GHL has great product support in the US. I have always had great support at all times.
Its a rock solid controller. I do PLC control work for a living and use industrial controllers daily in my work. That is why after using Apex I went with the Profilux very powerful and cleanly well built equipment is what I want.
