But we thought he was kinda neat. He has black outlining his second stripe so it should stay that way and hopefully he won't get a third stripe. His tank mates were the same size as him and all had their full stripe already. He's doing well so far. Already eating like a little pig. Oh by the way these are the worst pics ever!

Most of the time its the people taking care of the tanks. ask them questions if they cant answer they I wouldnt go there.

Oh, good for you---you've got him in quarantine. Hope he does well for you: cute little guy.

The only thing I've ever bought at Petco has been clownfish and, I must say, their tank-bred clowns are very hardy and the color of mine is a very rich orange/reddish almost (ocellaris). So for clowns, I would tell anyone to check out the ones at Petco. Unfortunately, some of the staff there seems oblivious to, well, just oblivious.

They are ORA clowns

I bought my Blk occ from there 2 yrs ago and are awesome despite my females terrible attitude!:)
Also pet co orders most marine from ORA!

Good to know. All the good experiences comfort me. So far he is still doing well. Thanks for all the comments. :)

Thanks Indermark, I didn't know where Petco got their clowns. I went to ORA's website and read about their tank-bred livestock. Tank-bred is so much healthier because the animals are used to aquarium conditions and don't have to endure the perils of collection and transport from the Indopacific. Also, the likelihood of parasites and other health problems is dramatically reduced. I've seen the tank-bred dottybacks at Petco too, and they are very nice as well; however, I have only seen them a few times. Some of the Petcos here leave alot to be desired. Some of their fish depts. seem to have staff that know what they're doing and other don't.

I was at petco over the weekend and saw that they had quarantined almost all of their sw fishes. Inside one tank was a hippo, tang and 4 percs. All of them looked really bad with ich covering 80% of their bodies. The hippo was laying on its side at the bottom struggling to breathe. It was so sad.

I've seen and kept many a Petco fish. I have one of those tank raised neon dottybacks and a clarkii clown and damsel from them still. The right store makes all of the difference. I may go check them out again after reading this.......nice clown!
