do you have an idea on the price yet.... Now I'm interested in rock (that stuff is sweet) and possibly the brains also.... but i want the sps pieces for certain if the price is right! Looks like you'll be setting up a well established tank right off the bat
Well the liverock that is in my tank now is pretty well established, but theres not enough.
I believe he said the 2 acros were 120, and he said the blue tipped is bigger than the yellow even though the pic doesnt look that way. The large lobo looks huge and there is another lobo that I dont think he sent me the pic of, I believe the red one is the blasto that I was thinking about buying myself. I think he said both lobos were gonna be 150. I have to talk ot him again, its been a pretty sporatic conversation.

hmmm you mean for both 120 or for one? prolly both.... if thats the case i'd probably just want the blue one... it looks awesome from the picture. How big is the tank they are in so i can get an idea how big the corals are.... thanks

I'm actually on my way to Akron in like 15 minutes to pick up my tunze 6100 stream. With that baby in the tank i'll be looking at somewhere around 20 times turnover an hour in my setup. All it takes is some paper with dead presidents faces on them and wa la I'm basking in the glow of 750 watts of HQI lighting pouring into a 240 gallon slice of the ocean. I'd wear sunglasses but i really don't want tan lines..
Tunzesezes = too expensive. I cant see the point in paying that much when mods are commonly available (Go Stacker Go!). Besides, I dont like to have anything in my tank, Id rather do a little plumbing and just setup a main pump to do the work. Not to mention have you seen the new powerheads that arent quite on the market yet? All of the wiring remains on the outside of your tank and the prop inside is run by magnets on the outside.
I probably wont be able to pick everything up for about 2 weeks, I am just starting my new job and have to finish up work on a website before I go get it. Some of us dont have the ching ching to go out and buy tunzesezesesss and top notch halides and 500 gallon tanks and colony upon colony of sps and port jackson sharks to put in our friends cesspool of a tank.

I think I s**t my pants I was laughing so hard.... cesspool lol thats classic. seriously I had to stop typing and get it all out.. wow! See the way it works is you manipulate this site to your advantage. I don't shop new, I get near new top of the line stuff at generic prices. I just bought 700 dollars worth of equipment for 250 bucks.... how can you say no to that. Plus i bought mike a 14 inch diameter leather coral for 30 bucks. if you dried it out, you could make a stool out of it.

P.S. I most likely will be selling the maxi-mods stacker made me. Now that i got over 5000 gpa from the two tunzes I bought I don't think i'll be needing them. Too bad too cuz they work excellant. If anyone wants them LMK.

Jamokie... Icecap Vortec is what you speak of. They are releasing them bu they have issues with performance, heat generation, and longevity. I think they jumped the gun a bit. I know someone who bought one. Anyway, they are HUGE and shouldn't even be considered for tanks under 125g because they take up tons of space. The motor cranks out over 150 deg. F which will eventually cause heat issues even tho they are outside the tank. Cost is prohibitive to all but the dumb and wealthy at almost $300 a crack too.

I love when people ride along with me.... I'll have to give you a heads up next time. I'm always dragging people who don't give two craps about fish along with me just so I don't appear to be some type of lone nut. I just do the same things you guys do, browse the forums and jump on deals. Then it always seem like i get there and find hidden treasure that people seem to be giving away. take that leather for example, it literally fills up a quarter of my friends 75 gallon tank. I mean huuuuuuuuge and attached to about 8 pounds of liverock... all for 30 bucks. This thing was sticking out of a 5 gallon bucket.

As for what stacker says about people spending money on stupid stuff. My personal favorite are the people who blow a crapload of money on things that simulate raining and cloudy days and moon cycles and such. For god sakes, its a piece of coral, it doesn't have a brain. Its not going to freak out because it realized its no longer cloudy in the tank its in. lol. Whats next a mirror'd onesided glass that looks normal from the outside but to the corals reflects as more ocean so they don't freak out when they realize they are next to a sofa and jerry springer is on the T.V.
I'm done spending for a while myself... all i really need equipment wise is a new sump someday that is acrylic and has a built in refugium. O and a model in a french maids outfit to clean the tank from time to time.
