I Think I'm in Big Trouble

While performing my weekly tank clean up. I noticed my lawnmower with the left side of his head swollen. I think he has a parasite inside :( This has ruined my weekend.

Here are the pictures. Can anyone confirm or deny my ID?

Rocky has been living in this tank for almost two years.

What can I do?

Any recommendation on how to catch him?

This can also be popeye, though I've never known one to get that. Try the Fish Disease forum: the treatment is to qt and ---I think---medicate, but I'm not sure with what. It's a swelling. Can be treated.

Watch where he sleeps at night, reach in and net him while he's asleep.

my lineatus wrasse had something similar to that. I was telling Rob at Exotic Aquatic about it and he gave me some Gel Tek Erythromycin. I soaked my PE Mysis in that for about an hour or 2 and fed it...it was gone within 2 weeks. No idea what caused it or what it was but its gone now thank god!!

I appreciate all the feedback.

Something I forgot to mention is that he has been changing colors for the last two weeks or so. Getting very pale some times while the lights are on, and getting very very dark at times.

He still eating everything I put in the tank.

Color changing can be due to its natural reactions. My blue damsels are like this, during they daytime they are blue but when I come home and feel like looking at my tank they are really pale blue. When its angry it tends to turn a little darker... purplish.

Its very clear to me that he is... evolving. Soon he will crawl out of your tank and get his own food. Within an week he will be using tools and communicating with sign language and grunts. I for one welcome our new Blenny overlords.
