That is what I call a very beautiful Black Perc

I just bought one...he's still a baby, and not fully black yet...but I'll try and get a picture up...

I have seen ywo wc pairs exactly like this in the past 6 months in thailand howvere did not have the 10000 baht asking price at the time gutted, I wont pass up the oppo again:(

...most people are talking about Ocellaris when they say Black Perc...

This is a gorgeous clown, anyway. I wouldn't call it a Black Percula, but it is certainly a fine Onyx specimen.

na i think black saddleback gets the black perc moniker most often

I think Black perc is one of the more confusing and pointless common names as it is used to describe sooooooo many clownfish by people who dont know what they are doing.

i have a LFS that is also a RC sponsor that cant seem to stop calling the black and white ocellaris that are tank raised from austrailia, Black perc Australian its so confusing for people who dont know better. and normally the store is very good with ID.

Yep thats a Black and white ocellaris clown tank raised...

this is is exactly what i was talking about, no offense to you but the consumers in this hobby are confused.

Well...I bought it from a pro...and he said it's a perc...and I paid perc prices...lol...but it is tank raised...

Someone's wrong!

Unless I'm totally out to lunch!

Ultimately it doesn't matter THAT much to me...but still, I'd like to know for certain...

I agree but I am sure its not me :)

IDK what you paid but 24-50 per fish is normal price for Black and white ocellaris and that is definitely what you have....

Juvy A. ocellaris (black variant), and be careful with that Rhodactis indosinensis (hairy mushroom), they're known clownfish eaters.
