I think this is what people mean by black PERCULA

these onyx pictured are no more black than rods IMO, here in this pic you can see that rods male is just as black as the fish posted here.. I would say superonyx is a stretch and that all these fish are onyx and that black percula is not a fish. lol

Marinebetta,
Can you give us a picture of her mother? Do you intend to do line breeding or inbreeding her with another sibling?
Here's a pic of the parents who produced the F1. Her black pectorals have since faded to a more normal orange color:(

She is currently paired up with a sibling. Not as nice and without the black in the fins but a good body color. I want them to start spawning a few times first before I attempt to repair her with her sire. This will hopefully increase the percentage of good blacks and maybe help to fix the trait a little.

Rod's male is also a super fish. Been looking out for something similar (and hopefully female!) but it's difficult to find such a specimen.

what do you huys think of the blue lipped anenome fish, another one that is commonly miss labeled as a B&W perc

if you happen to see any A. Latezonatus mislabeled as black perc Buy all of them. you could sell them quickly here on RC for huge profit. these are very rare clowns i dont think many people are mislabeling them

...well, doubtful we'd get such a lucky mistake up here...but I'm gonna keep my eye out just for fun...

that comes months later, my females still chase the males away from the nem sometimes.

Guess what! Today the orange ocellaris is in the GBTA...and the black ocellaris is hanging around nearby! I think they're engaged!!! :)

...*ACK* They had a spat! The orange is in the anemone...the black is now in the neigbouring frogspawn...

Stay tuned for the next installment of "How the Clown Swims"...

Nope, sorry, those are Amphiprion polymnus.

There is no such thing as a black percula, and that's a perfect example of why this "mistaken identity" has got to stop.

wow neat. thanks for the info. ill know better now :)

Actually, after a closer look they may be A. Sebae...

In any case, certainly not black perculas.

naw you were right the first time. after reaserching the two species more.....they're definatly A. polymnus

thanks tho. realy helped me narrow the speacies search alot. now i know alot more about specialized care for them.
