i too got bitten: c. pylei(pair), c. punctatus(pair), p. rubricaudalis male, c. luddocki,p. carpenteri(pair-I hope) and im planning on adding a c. jordani pair as well as c. bathyphilus pair

look nice, i love the rhomboids. becareful with the scotts i have read they are one of the most aggressive. are you using an acclimation box to introduce to the display? it is a must for any wrasse nut.

i have just recently made a diy acclimation box out of some spare acrylic so i have that covered.

the scott's aggression is a major concern of mine. he's one of the few fish i have semi impulse purchased. they are going in a 300 gallon display so i WAS confidant that he'd be ok but now, not so sure. lol. the last thing i want is him beating up on all of the other expensive wrasses. plus he is significantly larger than the other wrasses.

does anyone have first hand experience with the scott's? a little aggression wouldn't be too bad. maybe it would keep their colors flashing. but i definatly don't want to introduce a fairy killer. thanks.

I had a couple a few years ago and they actually weren't bad. But I have heard from many people over the years that they are the worst when it comes to aggression. Keep a close eye on him. Maybe you got a gentle giant. :)

I know the feeling...I have about 30 wrasses (20 different types) in my 450g display...just added 6 from Vanuatu yesterday, been in QT for 9 weeks ,and acclimation box for 2 days! Lineatus is still favorite...

thanks for the replies guys, i'm still tossing and turning on adding the scotts to the display or not. between reports of aggression and loss of color i keep thinking maybe i shouldnt. but his color now is incredible! argh.

anyway, i hope you two know that your are both largly responsible for my wrasse addiction. especially you, bradleyj

oh, and albano, the lineatus is way up there on my list, i just haven't been able to find the right deal for the right one yet.

I seem to get the rap of spreading a wrasses bug. LOL :D

One thing I can say though is the scotts will lose his green brilliant color and turn to a dark off blue.
The red fairies keep their color well but the blues lose their brilliance.

hey guys whats the most flame wrasses ever kept in your tank at 1 time?
I have 5...4 m, 1 changing to M...started 1 yr. ago with 2 M and 3 F., also have 3 hooded wrasses (sometimes called Vanuatu flames)...in 450g DT...total about 30 wrasses out of 70 fish.
