I walked into Petco, and behold...a rare gem!

Yes, your posts were very helpful!

Still looks good, Jared. Should be a nice add to your collection. I like how they call it "orange" LOL

I know, that's kinda funny. I lost about everything moving, changing systems & training for my new job. Was super busy with no time. I'm gonna try to restock soon. I'm getting 20 clowns for $50 next week.

My new tank:

The tank I tore apart and rebuilt:

best tool I saw in the tank pic is the blue circular round object in the top left corner...lol looks great

I use the check valves for a few reasons.

1. I don't like my returns sitting on the top of the water.
2. I hate when my DT back siphons 20 gallons into my sump.
3. I don't like drilling holes in my loc-line or returns.
4. They are unions and allow me to break the returns at the bulkheads.
5. They look cool for the ladies. Ha Ha

Bristleworm, nice job on the build! I'm curious about the tank you re-siliconed for your friend. Did you re-use the spacers between the panels from the factory, use different ones, or none at all? Just curious. Thanks!

The problem is that they are usually 'inoperative' very shortly after normal usage... NEVER depend on them to work when needed.

I used check valves in the past and they always fail when I needed them. Not the first few months but after 6 months they won't hold water.
