I want a carpet

I would love to get one but wondering if my lights are enough. I have a 120 gal. (48x24x24) softie tank with two 120w Chinese dimmable leds hanging 10 inches above the water. whites are set at 50% and blues at 70%. all corals are doing great. my calc is only 400. I do not want to dose. is it possible?

What kind of carpet? I have a thriving gigantea under a d120. The d120 is approximately 4" from the surface and at mid day the gigantea is a close as 3" below the surface. I run them at 100%. FWIW, I slowly ramped up the lights and pretty much the only thing that appreciates the 100% light level is the gigantea .... lol. While SPS and other corals seem sensitive to LEDs in my tanks, the anemones just want more. I may add another d120 or even a 400w MH.

I don't want to add a carpet if I need to increase the lighting where it will affect my softies. I'm sure I can increase it some but 100% may be too much. I thought most carpets like to stay on the bottom at the base of rocks.

I say again, What kind of carpet? Mine is thriving under a single d120 at %100 and I probably could use less, by my tank is for the gigantea .... don't car about anything else, so I may add more light to see if I can get better colors/growth.

Tin ax do you have a picture of your carpet. Mine takes up half my 120

Colorwise, nothing beat a good Haddoni carpet. Gigantea come close. Both the carpets live right at tidal zone, often exposed during low tide. Both Haddoni and Gigantea do best with highest light you can provide, full tropical surface sun. They can live with less but for best look they need very high light.

There is no color adjustment with this picture, only resized and cropped.

Yes Minhs right, the more light the better, don't skimp. These are amazing animals and amongst the most difficult to keep in the hobby. Why limit yourself off the bat with lighting.
