seth my boy. aka the (drama prince) just a thought. do your parents trust family members or any of there friends that could care for the stuff while you are gone and if something goes wrong they can call someone local on here except loosbrew and then they could help. i will be looking over gwrench's tank while he is out of town. i won't be going over to his house but if his wife see's a problem then she knows to call me. jmo

We had becca's brother do ours while we were out of town. Just called and asked him how they were doing every day. Our biggest issue was top off water needing to be made before we went....

Just a thought! You could stay home with your fish, and i will load up for a 2 week vacation as the son the always wanted . I could dye my hair and cover my tattoos so they wouldn't even know until we were already there. Where are we going anyway, not that it matters to me lol.

Seth, you have all those fish in a 75 gallon??? If you do I would definately say your overstocking it for sure. Thats a huge bio load. You better hope someone can come to your house and take care of your tank there because if you can't you would be seriously stressing out a lot of fish by moving them, most likely killing some of your corals and disrupting the biological balance in your tank. Not smart....

I love my hobby and everyone has to start somewhere, so dont get at me for not being responsible, if you were in the same situation, you would understand.

Hey seth, i got an idea for you. If you have more than enough money to pay for someone to come into your house everyday to take care of your fish take your parents to aqua holics and have them meet the people that will be servicing your tank for the two weeks and hopefully they should build up the trust with them. They are a business and they are not going to do anything stupid that will put their business in harms way, ie: stealing stuff.

I keep my parameters down by doing 2 water changes a week...

and yeah, i am talking to them, but no, the aquaholics people are the reason my parents dont want someone professional (she thinks they look a little sketchy...). The thing with the family is, that no-one lives nearby, or close enought to come every day or even every other day... My friend Dan woulc be the only one, and that is hwo i am tryign to talk to my paretns about...

This is Seth's mom. For the record, Seth is a very responsible young man. Yes he is a kid, but a great kid. We'll consider all possibilites and I think it's great that he's looking for options this far ahead of our vacation. We just have a "thing" about someone being in our house when we're not there. We've known Dan since the boys were toddlers and he's at our house all of the time. I have talked to the Aqua Holics folks and don't think they are what Seth said I thought! Maybe the first time, but since talking with them they are great people.

hi seth's mom. great to here from you. i understand you point of not wanting people in your house. i think what seth is doing is great. i wish i was allowed to have a tank when i was that age. it keeps him out of the bad stuff. he is a great person to know. people have a tough time with seth keeping tanks but alot of people have mad the same mistakes including myself and thats how some people learn. seth means well but he needs to work on they way he post subjects. people read to far into it sometimes. seth in 10 years will be 20 years ahead of other people exposer to this hobby. i hope he will keep pecking away at it and ask questions and keep asking questions to get as good as his potional. good luck on finding someone to take care of the tank while you are on vacation
