ice cap ballast. new vs old

Just wondering, besides the user friendly makeover if there is any difference between the new and old style 250 watt ballasts?
Did they change any of the inner workings or anything like that?

The new version is slightly smaller, but it will fire any bulb. You can switch between Iwasaki's and other brands without having to change anything on the ballast. You may remember that in the past this required shipping the unit back to Icecap for internal modification.

Obviously the circuit design is new (since it's a smaller package), but what this means to a user is unclear. The only functional difference is what I've said above.

I have used many different bulbs on my 250 watt icecap ballasts with out ever having to send the ballast back to icecap. It has fired every bulb I put on them.
