Iceemn's 125 reef tank PHOTO intense

Lol well im glad im not the only one. Nitrates and Phosphates never used to be a problem until I had to help save my friends fish from a tank crash. Im actually doing the vodka dosing now in attempt ot address the issue. I can tell my LPS are suffering some what from the bioload. The model of my Euro Reef skimmer escapes me but Its about the size of a 5 gallon bucket. The original pump busted so Im using a modded magdrive. maintainence consits of biweekly 30 gallon water changes. ATO was just installed> plumbed to a garbage can full or RO water. Lights are as stated in my very first post. ummm..... Calcium reactor> KNOP with 10lb CO2 tank. 2X96 watt coralife fixture for the refugium>>> Cheato growing like nuts.

stocking can be summarized as too many tangs and is by no means a model for other aquarium keepers. yet they all get along amazingly are fat and healthy.
My vlamingi was donated to the Birch Aquarium at Scripps in San Diego where it is going to be the star fish in Tank 26

Agreed. Great shots. Are you using a circular polarizer for those outdoor sky shots?

Oh and very nice tank too :)

sorry Will i have no idea how I missed your post. I DID use a circular polarizer and the effects were amazing in terms of adding deepness to the blues in the sky, cutting glare, and making the clouds more defined. Without the polarizer.... as seen in some of the photos.. the sky is washed out and overexposed with no definition of clouds.

THis is where water from the ATO goes into the tank

This is where the chiller line and the ATO line come out from the wall into the tank stand. (traveling about 30 feet in crawl space from the garage. )

Refugium just harvested half the cheato. The ATO is in the top left. Notice the handle fo Vodka? haha Also the Left overflow now drains straight into the refugium. not sure if this a great Idea but I like it!

MY Fish love Faces

My fish just love to follow people moving around the tank. Here they are all crowded at one end.
They think I;m going to feed them. hah and they have already just been fed!

All of these pics are amazing. I have a d40x and only wish to get pics as good as those.

Great tank too!

good photography, but there's a lot of weird things in your reef. Frogs, lions, cars... ;) The title should be "Iceemn's little bit of everything!" Thanks for sharing it all.

Nice tank and pics!! Too bad I couldn't afford a goldfish bowl while going to UCSD :p

Good lord, you have some fabulous photography skills.

What bulbs are you using in your lighting if I may ask?

The ligthitng is provided by three 250 watt 10K XM bulbs with magnetic ballasts
There are also 2 110 watt VHO actinics with Ice Cap Ballast
Ordered it from champion lighting

haha no worries. as someone once said.. I believe the quality of the photo is 50% the lens, 40% the user and 10% the body. So dont worry it. You've got a great camera! just keep shooting.
