Ich treatment Idea--please advise

I've had a new pair of blue throat triggers in my QT for little over a week and this am I saw them both with Ich spots. I dosed Cupramine. Do I gain anything by taking the fish out of the QT, cleaning out the QT tank completely and then refilling it with water from my main display system (water that would normally be thrown out during a water change)? Will that help the chances of survival or should I wait until I see if they survive the cupramine dose?

Are you sure there are no parasites/diseases in your DT (even with Cupramine there can be certain parasites/diseases that are not effected by it and infect the fish in qt). If so you can do it, but you would need to redose new water with Cupramine. All in all if the disease is in DT, fish will encounter it in the end, so you can ignore this suggestion :).

Also keep in eye on ammonia, water from DT contains "life" in it that cupramine would kill. It can cause a minor ammonia spike depending on amount of life in your water. Like Dealseer said, if you have enough water and another spare tank, you can ditch Cupramine and do TTM.
