ick...again!!

i do have one sps whcih is a pearl bubble coral and i have a seabe anemone all the rest of my corals are softies. should i cut my lights back to say 7or 8 hrs instead of a full 12hrs cycle?

thanks for all your help! i'm not sure what i do without all of you helping all the time

won't hurt for a couple days. in the ocean, they have things called STORMS which happen quite often, so I'm told :D
just teasin, but yeah, you can cut the light back for a few days.

You should be able to cut back to 7 hrs easy for about 5 days or so. Then just add 1 hours back on a day until you are at your normal cycle again.

i used kick ich, and it didn't harm my anemone or goniopora. I haven't had ich since then. Another consideration is to get a UV sterilizer to constantly clean the water of ich floaters...

Feeding garlic will help with there immune system but isnt a cure. For a ich medication you could use a product called Green X. I have used it before and it has worked flawlessly.
It is safe for all corals, pods, inverts etc. I didnt have one snail, crab, coral die while treating. You have to follow the directions closely. I dont like to tell people to us meds unless it is thelast resort.

Was this used in the main display tank?

Was this used in the main disply tank? I have a 150 and I have fire fish and two clowns. If they get ich they have to die becuase I have too much rock work in my tank to chase them. Could I treat in my main display?

i have dosed with the kick ick in my main display witht the adice form people that say it is safe to use in the main tank.

i'll keep you posted on the results.

just an update..

today is the last day to dose the tank and the kick ick didn't harm any of my corals but my fish still has two spots on him. so..what to do? do i continue dosing for another few days or should i just stop and hope for the best?
he acts fine and i've been feeding him and my clowns (which are still clear) garlic soaked foods every day.

thanks

Dose for another cycle. May have had a few of those bugers attach to the fish before the meds could get them.
