ID Confirmation - Colonial Hydroids?

Pretty sure I've got a positive ID here but would love a collective conformation...

Am I looking at colonial hydroids, not a desirable hitchhiker but ok so long as they aren't stinging or going out of control?

Hi Drez,

not clear (magnifying) enough, might also be harmless jellyfish like http://www.reeflex.net/tiere/2356_Nausithoe_sp..htm . Can You determine wether there is something like a tiny net between the polyps? That would suggest hydroids.

But I think (!) I see calcareous tubes and that would mean they are the sessile form of jellyfish. If You follow my link You can see sometimes the polyps reproduce and cut off their offspring which then looks like true jellyfish as we know it. ;)

The heads match well with the Nausithoe sp Jellyfish but the tubes etc. Appear to match well with the linked hyroids from reeflex. Thought so. Guess I'll monitor for the time being.
Thanks All

Yea, I have these in my tank, Believe it or not a 2 watt laser turned them black. Don't know if they will grown back or not.
