So last weekend i bought some live rock with corals from a guy who was getting out of the hobby..(corals weren't fairing well in his tank hoping i can save them) I removed the corals from the rocks by breaking the rock where the corals were attached. i then placed the corals in my display, on the substrate attached to the rubble i broke off. I then placed the remaining live rock in a plastic tote with a heater and and airline in case i missed any Zoanthids i could remove later.Also a peppermint shrimp went mia at his house hoping he is still somewhere in rocks.While looking for the peppermint shrimp i found theses worms and what turned out to be allot of bristle starfish.. I need some help Identifying these worms in hopes that i didn't just make a ginormous mistake putting that rubble straight in my display. ( i know stupid but it was getting late and mt QT tank is only 10 gal) So please help ID these worms and since the rock is still in the tote i would like to get the bristle stars out of it which i cant figure out how to do, short of smashing the rocks to bits... Please help with your thoughts

Those worms are the good kind of bristle worms. They will clean up uneaten food. Good deal! The corals look sad but salvageable. Will be fun watching them get healthy and colorful again. Hope you post pix!
That is what i was hoping. Anyone with thoughts on how to get bristle starfish to come out of the rocks? The one black one i have in my DT is huge and is very entertaining to watch at feeding time.. there seems to be at least 3 baby ones hiding in the rocks i would love to ad them to my reef.....

Bristle stars hate to be out in the open IME, but they will move into a ball of chaeto. If you want to move them to a different tank, maybe put some food around a smaller piece of rock and wait for them to move into it. Then just transfer the rock.
Still struggling to get the bristle stars out of the rocks i bought that are in the plastic tote. I dont want the live rock but i would like the stars for my reef. I set a bottle trap with food last nite and checked several times no luck.. Everytime i look in the tote i see more baby stars too.. I have seen many videos like at Garf.org of people moving rocks into a bucket and the stars just end up on the bottom of the bucket.. these little suckers just wont come out... Short of busting the rocks to bits I am out of ideas. I really dont want to bust it all into rubble. even if I were to give the rock away it would still be better than smashing it.. The star i have in my display is so fun to watch at feeding time that i would love to have more in my reef....
