ID my clam and placement

I get most of my livestock from the LFS here in town. The clams they have been getting have looked rather drab, so I never bothered to get one. Finally, they got a nice one, so I snatched it up. Would someone please ID this so I know where to place it. Thanks!!

IMO.. Maxima, but I not 100% sure until I see the shell.

For Maximas, the sand or rock wall placement is fine.
 
It is not possible to ID Tridacna without picture of the shell from the side.

Can be Tridacna maxima or Tridacna crocea or Tridacna squamosa.
 
While the above is correct, It is most likely a Maxima, as they are common that size and color in the hobby.

Feeding it pyhto until it is at least 3" in length will help with its survival. These small clams rarely survive without supplemental feeding.
