So i finally setup a sump and added some cheato and been noticing more and more bugs. Im pretty sure its a type of flat worm but everything i read goes back and forth as if there okay due to there not red there brownish tan color.

Also i have a prefilter on the mag pump will that keep them out of the dt or should i start getting rid of them or what? I have a few corals and all seem to be doing good and growing besides my gsp they grow then disappear. But my zoos, mushrooms, frogspawn, candy canes, and 2 sps all seem to be doing good plus few others idk there names.

Whats your thoughts on this?

are they the bad ones? Will they get into my dt? i wanted to get rid of the prefilter on return pump to send pods up maybe but with these flatworms idk what to do everything is back n forth with them.

They don't look like the brown toxic ones. All pix I see of the bad brown ones are more square style of worms. I got this style of white ones. They not supposed to b toxic but will eat corals. But I got flatworm exit from lfs & dosed my tank. It didn't rid them all but did most. Need to do it some more. Good luck.

I had to treat every few days for a week to get rid of them. I've used FW exit before so I know from experience following the instructions doesn't work. Did a double dose the first time and there were survivors. Did a water change and another double dose, and then still survivors. Quadruple dose, none lived. I don't have any SPS in the tank, only softies & LPS. Snails and hermits weren't harmed, pod population suffered.

Mine were the non toxic ones but I still went ahead & installed a carbon reactor to pull out any possible toxins. I had it tumbling to fast & the carbon started to break up. Causing a nice black blanket on everything. I did a double dose on mine also & still had some left. My cleaner shrimps died either from the fw exit or carbon failure. But my pod population is zero now. Sucks cause I don't even have fish & I had a massive amount of pods too.

Yes they will get into your DT, they are already there you just might not see them yet. A sixline wrasse or melanarus will serve as a good exterminator for them. If they are really bad use flatworm exit, follow the directions and it will work wonders. It may require more than one treatment

And when you see them they multiply fa st.I'm having trouble with them now. They are not destructive but are ugly.
As I don't want to use chemicals I'm going to do the six-line w or blue velvet nudebranch thing.only problem is if the latter of the two eradicates them it specialized diet will die.

My leopard wrasse ate flatworms when I had them... He still hunts for them on the glass. But I haven't seen any in a long time. Great picture BTW, easy to I'd when a great picture is given.

Thanks for the id

thanks spartareef for good pic

So yes there flatworms and now i see them on all my corals im not sure what to do. I am also in the processes of transferring everything to my 180 gal once cycled.

I bought a sixline yesterday will see if that helps but there so many and in a 120g its hard to reach in to get them...

I was thinking doing a dip or something before moving to 180 and maybe doing the fw before move i just dont know what to do it really sucks

Any other thoughts out there?

Wait and see what that wrasse does... They are pigs... It will find them and they will be gone in a day or two... Or it won't touch them at all...lol
